Quarterly Meeting Minutes
The Tennessee Wireless Association hosted a luncheon meeting at the Old
Natchez Country Club in Nashville on September 14th 2006. There were
approximately 65 wireless industry professionals in attendance. Hunter
Stuart and Ross Kauffman presided over the meeting.
Janet Gill provided a quick update about the upcoming PCIA meeting in
Nashville.
Hunter & Ross provided an update on the 2006 Jon Hastings Memorial Golf
Tournament and presented a check to Patrick Clemens of the Minnie Pearl
Cancer Foundation for the amount of $32, 400, which was raised through the
generous support of our tournament sponsors.
Ms. Deborah Taylor Tate, FCC Commissioner, was introduced by Jim
Murphy, and gave an interesting and engaging talk on the role Wireless
providers will play in the future and how the FCC must use a light
regulatory touch that gives the industry the freedom to try new ideas and
deploy new technologies. She also discussed how the FCC should be
concerned with ensuring fair competition to allow the market to work
effectively.
Brief announcements were made about upcoming events, and since business
matters were concluded, the meeting was adjourned.
